I am so sad to hear the news about Gerry. My condolences go out to his family, especially Sue who I knew the best in the family, next to Gerry. My Mother, Cathy Gordon worked for Gerry for many years and had nothing but positive things to say, Gerry always went above and beyond "boss" duties to treat his staff like family. As a young girl I always went to work with my mom to see what she was doing and Gerry would always be there to give me a big hug and $20 for all of my hard working helping my mom file documents. He was truly one of the greatest men I had the pleasure of knowing and I am so sad to hear the news. Gerry, you are in a better place now, may you rest in peace. You will always be remembered as the hardest working man I knew with the biggest heart. Thank you so much for blessing my life with your presence, my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Doug and Monica, I was saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. I know how difficult this time is and hope you know that my heart is with you.
John Montgomery posted a condolence
I have know Gerry and his family through a business relationship for many years. Gerry could be quite a difficult guy to please sometimes, as I sat accross from his desk discussing customer issues and product related problems, and sometimes these discussions would become heated at times. At the end of the discussions and the issues either solved or we agree to disagree, we always left as friends and no no grudges regardless of the outcome. Gerry would fight for what he believed to be right for his customer as well as himself and the Volvo Organization. Some might call him a bugger for taking it further than he really thought it should go. But that was Gerry. He was as kind hearted as anyone I know and he will surely be missed. My life has been blessed just by knowing Gerry, he has taught me to fight for the things that were right, and to give a little even though it might not be necessarry. He will always be in my heart and mind. I am very sorry that I could not be there with you to celebrate his life. Please accept my deapest sympathy from my family to yours. John Montgomery.

I would like to send my love and deepest sympathy to Sue, Mike, Doug, Barry and their families. Gerry had a huge heart and great passion for family, friends, employees and business. Everyday when something comes up in our business, I always go back to when we worked together and draw from Gerry's example. I will always think of Gerry when having my Friday 5 o'clock libation with warmest memories. Rest in peace Gerry as you have touched more people than you could possibly imagine. You will be greatly missed.

My condolences to all the Wardle family. I was fortunate to get to know both Gerry and Sue though our business association as Volvo dealers both at meeting and receptions. His support for both Volvo, its dealers and their customers was outstanding . He always went that extra step to improve our industry and always represented and supported his fellow dealers in a manner which made us very proud to be associated. His presence will be missed by all who knew him.

Dear Susan, My deepest condolences to you and your family. Your husband had such a refreshing positive attitude that perhaps it helped to make the ALS journey together somewhat less challenging. No doubt he will be missed by many people he touched. My heart goes out to you, may you find peace in your own heart as you cherish all the wonderful memories you shared. Take care, Charlene

I was so saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times, but felt like I knew him so well. Roger being a customer talked of him so often, he looked forward to going into the shop just to chat with Gerry either about family, trucks or tractors. They spent many hours discussing their tractors and he cherished the advise Gerry would give him. I am sure they are both up there continuing their conversations. I hope you can find peace in your memories and they help you get through the many dark days ahead. You are in our thoughts. Judy Bahro & family

It is with a heavy heart that we are not with you today. Have lots of happy memorable occasions from school days to early teenage years and more recently holidays with each other, like wanting to play bowls along the landing at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, and standing behind the same lady during a tour of the Queen Mother's residence in Scotland and filling her hood with toffee papers as we went from room to room. You have left us all with irreplaceable memories and filled us with awe with what you have achieved in your lifetime. Feel truly privileged to have known you and to have you as a friend. A life well lived, you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, with love always, Boffey, Buglawton, England x

Our hearts were deeply saddened by the news of Gerry's passing. There is seldom a week I don't think of him and all that he and Gerry's truck Centre did for my famly over the years. He was always so happy to see the triplets and he always took time to come and see them. The kids will forever remember the foot tickle monster. May you take solice in the fact he was a great man that will not be soon forgotten. May your hearts heal fast and may you carry the fondest of memories forward.

I was saddened to read of Gerry's passing on Today's trucking website. Although we were customers of Gerry's for over 10 years, I only seen him a few times,( in fact the first time I met him he was going around the dealership with Swiss Chalet meals asking who would like one)but he always had a smile and asked how things were going. I know he will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family and staff.
