Obituary of Joan Wiebe

Joan Wiebe Joan Wiebe, wife of John, mother of Sarah, Aaron, and Elisha, nana of Tegan, and sister of John (Elaine) Rusling, died at the age of 63 on May 8, 2015 in London, Ontario. Joan was an emergent world traveller, a conduit of laughter, a lover of history (and nachos), a self-designated “Pelee Island girl,” and an unabashed believer in seeing others through the eyes of love. She embraced gluten-free before it was main stream, cheerfully played the “death card” to win an argument to adopt a feral cat, and found beauty even in her illness: “The good thing about cancer is that it makes it easier to say ‘I love you’”. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at Valleyview Mennonite Church, 1170 Melsandra Avenue, London on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2pm.
