Obituary of Lyle McDowell
Lyle McDowell
David Lyle McDowell, 81, passed away peacefully at University Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 after a brief illness. He was a loving husband for 56 years to Margaret (Bradish) McDowell and a devoted father to son David and Theresa of Manitoulin Island and daughter Karen and Mike Mitsovich of Sebringville. He loved having the grandkids visit – William (Courtnie) and Heather (Keagan) McDowell; Matthew and Amanda Mitsovich; Mark and Aimee Roesner; Lisa and Chris Turner and great-grandchildren Liam and Addy Turner. Lyle is predeceased by his parents Edna (1974) and Maurice (1984) McDowell and his two brothers, John (1988) and Norman (2014). Lyle worked for NEDCO in London and Sarnia for 25 years. He then turned to farming which complimented his passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting and was a proud member of the Glanworth Hunt Camp and was especially proud when his son and grandson shared his passion. His local hunting buddies – Jim, Doc and John – were soul mates, enjoying the outdoors and many good and fruitful hunts together. He took great pride and pleasure in caring for the Christ Church Glanworth Cemetery.
