Anthony (Tony) Blokker
Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, May 12th, 2017. Anthony (Tony) Blokker of London in his 88th year. Tony was a professor at Fanshawe College for 28 years.
Beloved husband for 63 years of Elizabeth (Lise) Blokker of London. Loving father of James and Marybeth Blokker of London, Hilary and Marge Blokker of Goderich, Cathy Blokker and Geoff Connors of London, Lawrence and Tracey Blokker of Strathroy, Betsy Blokker of Victoria, Deryk Blokker of Charlottetown, Veronika and Andrew Irvine of Waterloo, Pieter Blokker and Lori Macdonald of Vancouver, and Johanna Blokker of Bamberg, Germany. Proud Opa of James, Kate, Peter, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Jacob Blokker; Robert Earle; and Benjamin and Natalie Connors. Dear brother of Jacobus and Catherina Blokker of Germany, Adriana Broersen-Blokker, Nicholas and Helena Blokker, and Betty Blokker, all of Holland.
Friends may visit at St. Michael’s Parish, 511 Cheapside St, London on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm where the celebration of Tony’s life will follow at 1:00 pm. Father Frank O’Connor celebrating. Internment St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice London gratefully acknowledged. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hatshah Khan as well as the nurses, volunteers, and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice and especially to Dr. Cathy Faulds, Dr. Ian Ferguson, Jeanne Walker and Agnieszka who made it possible for Tony to stay at home until his final few days.
