We learned of Helen's death a number of months later, and were very saddened by the news. Our prayers are with you as time passes and you continue to feel her absence. We lived next door to Helen for 13 years, and always valued her quiet friendliness. Each year we would drive back to the area while Trick or Treating with our kids, and were sure to ring her bell! We also typically crossed paths at Canada Day celebrations.

Hearing of the passing of Helen hit hard. She was the best friend of my Aunt Vivian. They worked together as teachers at Oak Park school, traveled together to Florida, Fern Resort and so many other wonderful places. Helen had a way of getting my Aunt to do things outside of her box like canoeing. Helen always enjoyed visiting the migrating Swans in Spring, attending theatrical performances at Stratford and other theatres. Another memory of Helen was her love of the celebrations of Canada Day where she would have little Canadian flags in her flowers and even her house was red and white. Whenever we came to London during the summer my family was always welcome to come for a swim in her pool...then of course she would have baked something delicious for a treat. She treated my children so well and they both have very fond memories of Helen. She is the only person I know of that had stamps made with a picture of her favourite cat. Then there was the daily lunches of which Helen, Aunt Vivian and Eileen would try new places but also had their favourite spots where they were well known to the point of the waitresses knowing their favourite items on the menu. My thoughts now are that the three of them are together again and will be going for lunches harassing the waitresses. Sending hugs to those family and friends left behind. We lost a wonderful person but gained a 9Ebright star in the sky!!!

Sorry to learn of Helen"s passing. Have fond memories of her when we both were staff members at Oak Park Public School in London. Helen was a talented, creative, enthusiastic teacher and her enjoyment of instructing and caring for the young children in her classes was obvious. Sincere condolences to sister Bette and family.
Blessings,

Helen was a gentle , caring , thoughtful soul with a smile that lit up the room.
I was fortunate to be her friend my entire life and will keep her in my heart forever.
It was always an enjoyable time sharing dining experiences , teaching activities , theatre , bridge games , parades , Blue Jays games ,etc. etc. with her.
Phil will miss his “ Short Cake” and I will dearly miss my “ Forever Friend”.

Miss Thompson was my grade 4/5 teacher and an incredible influence on my life. I don't think we appreciated her enough as students but I had the good fortune to get to know her a little better as an adult since she was a friend of my mum's. She will be missed.
