Peacefully at Country Terrace Nursing Home with his family by his side, on Monday, September 16, 2019, Stewart Ellison Monteith of Lambeth, Ontario in his 98th year.  Beloved husband for 70 years of the late Lorna Monteith (née Sutton) (May 2016).  Loving father of Hugh and Nancy, Gloria, Janice and Barry Abbott, Nancy and George Bergsma and Lianne and Jim Todd.  Proud and loving grandpa of Robin and Todd Herriman, Craig Abbott and Shau, Dawn and Guy Miskelly,  Gail and Jason Stafford, Cheryl Monteith and Sean, Geoff Bergsma, Alissa and Chris McCleave, Emily Bergsma and Adam, Eveline Todd and Stewart Todd.  Loving great-grandpa of Riley, Rhys, Jesse, Madeline, Liam, Nathalie, Nicole, Mikayla, Nolan and the late Dillon (2002).  Beloved brother of Velma and the late Eric Pulham, Mary and Leverne Scott, Doris Hinge, Larry Monteith and the late Evelyn and Bill McPherson.  Loved brother-in-law of Eileen and the late Gordon Monteith and Margaret and the late Trevor Sutton.  Loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m., where the celebration of Stewart’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m.  Reverend Sue Browning officiating.  Private family interment Scottsville Cemetery at a later date.  Donations to the Littlewood United Church or the charity of choice gratefully acknowledged.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.   A special thank you to all the staff at Country Terrace Nursing Home for their compassion and excellent care.
