Obituary of Joseph Konik

Jozef (Joseph) Konik

Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, December 8, 2019, with his loving family by his side, after a long, well-lived life, Jozef (Joseph) Konik of London and formerly of Ekfrid Township in his 95th year.  Beloved husband for 66 years of the late Leokadia (2013)., Loving father of Ted (Betty) Konik of Toronto and Christina (Robert) Mills of London.  Proud grandpa Joe of Jason (Essa Myftari) Konik, Brian Konik, Jaime (Jamie King) Mills, Jeff Mills and Joe's great-grandchildren Joshua Konik and Emily Mills.  Also survived by his relatives in England and Poland.  Joe was born in Poland in 1925 and immigrated to Canada in 1948 and worked in a mine in northwestern Ontario.  Later, Joe operated farms in the Appin and Glencoe area for many years.  When he retired from farming, Joe and his wife Leokadia moved to Strathroy.  After the loss of his wife, Joe moved to London where he enjoyed living and received excellent care at Ashwood Manor for over 5 years, having spent the most recent year at Meadow Park Long Term Care in London.  Cremation has taken place with a private interment at St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.  Donations to the Alzheimers Society London-Middlesex, 435 Windermere Road, London, Ontario N5X 2T1 gratefully acknowledged.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca  McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, (519) 652-2020, Lambeth in care of arrangements.
