Obituary of William Barnum

William “Bill” Barnum Peacefully at his residence with his family by his side, on Monday, March 14th, 2016, William “Bill” Barnum of London in his 69th year. Beloved husband for 41 years of Linda Barnum (Boughtflower). Loving father of Melissa Christmas (John Tolis) and Jennifer MacGregor (Paul). Proud grandpa of Anastasia, Aidan and Carter. Survived by his brother John “Jack” Barnum (Jayne), and his sister Mary VanKoughnett, his nieces, nephews, his long-time friends Harry, Lee, Trace and his co-workers. Predeceased by his sister Kate Hunt. After a short stint in the Canadian Navy, William "Bill" found purpose and gratitude in the field of nursing. For more than 30 years as a registered nurse, William spent most of his career in the operating rooms and later in a managerial position. William was responsible for the coordination of the operating rooms at both University and Victoria hospitals, for which he provided leadership and mentorship to other colleagues, while earning deep respect from all who had come to know him. William was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will always be remembered for his caring demeanor and his infinite amount of patience. In his spare time William loved to follow local and world politics. Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road South, Lambeth (519) 652-2020 on Thursday, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. where the celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday March 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Matthew Penny officiating.
