It is with deep sadness that the family of Barbara Mae Fenner announces her passing at Victoria Hospital on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 88.

Beloved wife and best friend of Bert for 66 years.  Cherished Mom of the late Lori (Tom), Susan (Mike), Paula (the late Mike), and Brian (Linda).  Adored Grandma of Kathleen, Jeff, Ryan, Kristen, Emily, Bailey, Maddy, Tyler, Matt, and Kyle.  Grandma Big of Areya, Jacob, Parker, Emily, Charli, Wyatt, and James.  Loving sister of Gina Smith (Fred).  Pre-deceased by her parents George and Kay Hooker, brother Wilfred, and sister Doreen MacDonald.

Barbara was born and raised in Toronto, where she met Bert on a blind date in 1954, marrying him 2 years later.  They started their family soon after.  Barbara was a loving and supportive wife and mother, and excitedly welcomed each grandchild and then great-grandchild into her life.  They moved to Lambeth in 1962 and lived there for 59 years.  Barbara loved living in Lambeth, and was active in the Lambeth United Church over the years as a girls’ group leader, women’s unit member, and elder.  Most often together, Barbara and Bert were members of the horticultural society, sang in a Welsh choir, square danced, travelled, and spent many hours socializing with family and friends.  Barbara also enjoyed her ladies exercise group, book club, and flower arranging.  Family and friends will miss Barbara’s kindness, caring, and her sense of humour.

Friends may attend the funeral service at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road South, Lambeth, Ontario N6P 1P9 on Monday, June 27, 2022 at noon, with visitation 1 hour prior.  Cremation has taken place.  Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1200-2300 Yonge Street, Box 2414, Toronto, Ontario M4P 1E4 gratefully acknowledged.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.
