Obituary of Walter (Wouter) Van Buuren

Peacefully at Westmount Gardens, Long Term Care, London on Sunday, August 7, 2022, Walter vanBuuren of London and formerly of Toronto and The Netherlands at the age of 93 years.  Beloved husband of the late Margaretha Hendrika vanBuuren nee:  Zanbergen (2010).  Walter married Margaretha (Margie) in Thedford, Ontario, and they had one child, a son, the late Bill (William) vanBuuren (1982).  Walter (Wouter) vanBuuren was born June 23, 1929, in Overschie, the Netherlands to G.J. vanBuuren and J.M. vanBuuren DeKroes.  They had three children, Walter, the oldest and his sisters, the late Neeltje-Alida (vanBuuren) Mikmak and is survived by Kiki Alida Glavimans (Kees).  Survived by sisters-in-law Rita Kennedy and Joanna Cross. Walter is survived by four nephews in the Netherlands, Bernard Mikmak, Pieter Mikmak, Robert Glavimans, Pieter Glavimans and many nieces and nephews on the Zandbergen side as well as from Margie's side in Canada.  Especially loved and missed (in Canada) by his best friends Hugo and Joan Bongers, and niece Louise Zandbergen Stallaert.                                            

At the family’s request there will be no visitation or Funeral Service.  A public graveside service will be held at Woodhull Cemetery, Kilworth, on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 11:00 am.   McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, Lambeth, 519-652-2020 in care of arrangements.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.

He said of his beloved Margie "She was the love of my life.  She was the 'pillar'. I really miss that girl."
