We all share and live in this world for a brief moment in time. What matters is not wealth, status, power or fame, but rather, how we have loved and what small part we have played in making the lives of others better. Rick definitely made our lives better.
All the things we never got to say, our future plans cut short, things changed forever in a fraction of a second.
We smile when we think of Rick, because you would want us to.
Rick leaves a legacy of fun, laughter, mischief and abundance of life. He lived a Grand life, just too short.
So for now, we wipe out tears, raise our blunt and say, until we see you again my friend.
Rick will be GREATLY MISSED. LOVE ALWAYS!!!!!!

“Rick the hair guy” was how I had him in my phone.
I feel like Rick never needed me as a client. In fact I still don’t know to this day what he charges for a men’s hair cut. I would always just give him money and he would say cool bro!!
Looking back I think he just wanted to hang out with a guy for a bit, you know, get in some dude time. I mean the real money in hair is in the ladies. Fact.
Rick and I shared a love for our families. He was extremely proud of his—loved Donna like crazy. We both loved to cook, and would trade recipes often. We shared an interest in improving our health, all the while sipping a Heineken post a puff of a lefty! Lol—Rick was a great listener— but he for sure could tell a story.
It’s funny that looking back now I don’t think Rick needed money or another client out of me— just wanted another buddy!! He was a good bud for sure. You could just tell he genuinely cared for people.
Donna, I’m so sorry for this tragic loss for you and the boys.
We’ll all miss him.

Written by Cayla Boucher My favorite memory I have with Rick is when the family invited me to come to the fair and Rick and I went on the roller-coaster together. We had so much fun. Laughing and smiling together. Rick was a really fun dad and an amazing person. Rick cooked really great food too. He fought for freedom for his family and he is a hero. I am sure you are watching over your family in heaven. We pray for you and your family. Everybody misses you. We planted 5 trees in your name so your seeds will continue to be planted and grow. Rick was always accepting and loving towards his clients. His bright smile always made me feel secure and his talent made me feel beautiful. When I came to Canada 18 years ago, Rick accepted me as my first friend here. I knew that Rick always prioritized his beautiful family: Donna, Preston, and Max. As a client and friend, Rick was always someone very important to me and the memories with him will forever be in my heart. I only knew Rick and his family briefly in Costa Rica, but he was someone whose light shone with an incredible brilliance, which was matched by an infectious zest for life. Donna, Max, Preston and the rest of his family and friends should take comfort in knowing that this guy won’t ever forget him.

I remember your family joining us and a group of good friends at our cottage in Blue Mountains in January 2020. When Rick had the floor to tell one of his great stories, he lit up the room and had every one of us smiling and laughing! On top of being a great stylist, he was an amazing chef - feeding a crowd and treating us all to the best breakfast nachos ever! I met Rick through my daughter Allison. In our first meeting he told me his story. Nothing phoney about this man. Honest to the core. He bragged about his wife and two sons, clearly the most important people in his life whom he loved unconditionally. He was larger than life itself! My sincere condolences to his family.
