Obituary of Dot Macpherson

Macpherson, Dorothy (Dot) May (Lewis) – March 25, 1923 – February 23^rd, 2024 passed away in her 101^st year.  Loved wife of the late W. Archibald (Archie) Macpherson) (2005) and loved mother of Lynda (late Wayne) Wowk, Bill and Jean Macpherson and Don & Diane Macpherson.  Loved grandma ‘Dot’ of: David & Twyla Wowk, Christopher Wowk, Karyn Lindstrom, Kathie Macpherson and Rob Bannerman, Laura Macpherson, Jim & Brydie Macpherson, Heather & Bill Todd and Beth & Jon-Paul McGonigle and great grandchildren: Riley, Owen & Hannah Wowk, Thomas, Truman & Ella Lindstrom, Talula & Julian Machado, Angus & Archie Macpherson, Kylie, Ava & Griffin Todd and Stella & Cohen McGonigle.  Daughter of the late Albert and Flossie (Bodman) Lewis, Dot was predeceased by her siblings: Mary, Albert, Marjorie and Ruth.

Dot was born and raised in London and area and lived much of her married life on Truman Line, Yarmouth Township and with Archie owned and operated Talbot Sand and Gravel.  Dot was a consummate armchair coach of the Toronto Blue Jays; sports having played a large part in Dot’s life.  In her earlier years, she was a gifted athlete and a number of years ago she was a coach for several girls’ baseball teams in Glanworth.  In later years Dot spent many hours playing cards.  Her independent and determined spirit allowed her to live in her own home until her 99^th birthday.

A celebration of her 100 years of life will be held Friday, March 1,2024 at Knox Presbyterian Church 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation one hour prior from 10- 11:00 a.m. Private family interment in the St. Thomas Cemetery.
