Obituary of Linda Holtby
Holtby – Linda Jean (White) of Ingersoll, formerly of Glanworth, passed away March 19, 2024 at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Linda was born April 14, 1950 to the late Bill & Marion (Blewett) White in London, ON. Dearly loved wife of the late Russell Holtby (2016) and cherished mom of Angela Holtby and Nancy Gorrell (Blaine). Extremely proud “G-Ma” to Landon. Beloved sister to Jim (Mavis) White and George (Shannon) White and sister-in-law to Bert Holtby. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Linda’s favourite pastimes included watching Wheel of Fortune (religiously), gardening, dancing, playing and listening to music (especially the Beatles), spending time with her family (including her “granddogs”), and enjoying dinners made with love by her favourite son-in-law.
Linda was passionate about being involved in her community, including working at Tim Hortons for 20 years, volunteering at ITOPA theatre, being a member of the Ingersoll Horticultural Society, the UCW at Trinity United Church, and serving on her condo board.
Linda was a good friend to the many people she met on her journey through life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life for Linda will take place on Saturday March 23, 2024 at Christ Church Anglican, 3424 Glanworth Drive, London. There will be a visitation at 1:00pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm. Linda’s family invites everyone to enjoy a light lunch and share some memories of her at the adjoining Parish Hall following the service.
