Obituary of Lorna Marie MacEachern

MacEachern- Lorna Marie (nee Richards), passed away peacefully in London, Ontario. Beloved wife and best friend of George (Mac) for 60 years. Lorna will be missed by her son Todd (Angie) and her daughter Kari Laird (Stephen). She was a devoted Grandmother to Cassandra MacEachern, Matthew MacEachern, Morgan Laird (Liam), and Darcy Laird.

Lorna was the oldest of 4 children and was raised on a farm in Dresden, Ontario by Bill and Helen Richards. She is survived by her sister Donna Jones (Dave) and her brother Phil (Norma). Predeceased by her brother Ken Richards (Dianne), sister-in-law Janet Richards (Phil) and by her sisters-in-law Betty-Ann Stevens (late Eldon) and Donna Mae Stokes (Rick). After high school, Lorna obtained her teacher’s certificate and first worked in a one room schoolhouse in southwestern Ontario. She had taught in various locations including Port Arthur and in southwestern Ontario before she married Mac. She was a proud military wife and together Lorna and Mac raised their children while traveling through Europe and across Canada with postings in Germany, Yellowknife, Petawawa and London.

An avid camper and traveler, Lorna liked to recall their camping adventures in Europe. From camping in castle courtyards and getting lost in Spanish orange groves, they had their share of adventures.

In their retirement years, Lorna and Mac continued their RV adventures with their motorhome and enjoyed their snowbird lifestyle in Texas and Florida. Lorna will be missed by all her family and many friends.

A Celebration of Lorna’s life will be held at the McFarlane and Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S., London (519 652 2020) on Saturday April 20^th at 2:00 p.m. Visitation one hour prior.
