Len and Brenda adn the entire Smith family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. may the fond memories of your Mom bring a smile and some solace during this time. All moms are cherished individuals. Sadly one never fully realizes it until they are no longer around. May she rest in peace...

Aunt Shirl had such a warm smile and even more welcoming laugh. Her strength and tenacity made her an amazing woman and her sense of humor was always entertaining. She will be missed but I know she's been welcomed with open arms in Heaven. May her loving and effervescent spirit live in all of us she touched.

For days I have being trying to put in a note something that would tell someone who didn't know Aunt Shirl very well who she was. She was my second mother and was there for me all my life. She had a love that reached through the phone when we talked. She had a depth of love that never ended. She had a wonderful sense of humor and we were always laughing when we were together (even on the phone). Her love was always there, even when she felt what we were doing was wrong. She would end our talks on the phone by saying "can you feel my arms around you giving you a hug". For me personally the loss of her is so far beyond grief that I feel torn and empty. The world is much darker knowing her shining face, her hugs, her laughter are gone. I will always carry her love with me, as I have done my whole life. I will miss the hours spent having cup after cup of tea. Luckily Jan knows how to do that too, so she will live on in our love for each other. Can you feel my arms around all of you, I love you. Marg

Dear Jan, Len and Les and your families, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and wish we could be there for you now. I fondly remember the times I spent at your home on summer vacation and your dear Mother taking us swimming and to various activities, she was always so patient and loving!!! Especially remember the cigarette episode - ha ha. Lots of love and hugs! Cuz Carol
