Thanks Garry for all the wonderful memories you have provided me for the past 60 years. I met my good friend Garry in 1962 at H.B. Beal Secondary school in grade nine. Quickly we became friends, as we both enjoyed Sports and especially golfing together at Thames Valley Golf course. Also at this time, I was introduced to his best friend (Norm Laforet) and who joined us in playing golf and following the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays. I felt bad, because I was not a Toronto sports fan. I was a "closet" Detroit Red Wing and Tiger fan, but our friendships led us to be known as the THREE AMIGOS as we certainly had a great deal of laughs over the 60 years. Garry was was a friend who you could share all your intimate thoughts and count on him for support. There are "comical experiences over the years, that the "AMIGOS"( which will NOT be made public) as we preferred to be known as "outstanding citizens" as we slowly matured ascending through our "teen- years," and went on with our careers.and marrying our sweethearts. I must say, Garry was blessed to have his Stephanie as his loving wife over the past forty-nine years. My wife Lynda and I were introduced to Stephanie at Niagara Falls, on the Maid of Mist, wearing our raincoats . If you knew Stephanie, she is not very tall, but "believe me" she had no problem "conversing with Garry." Suddenly this loud voice which you could hear over the thunder of the Falls, "GARRY I'M GETTING GOD-DAM WET!" I looked at Lynda, and she looked at me, and we knew, Stephanie was the right woman to "guide him through the next forty-nine years. Rest in Peace Garry.

I am shocked to hear about Garry’s passing as his family must also be - so fast and unexpected.I have great memories of those family Christmas Dinners and other holiday times at the Dorchester Farm of our grandparents Tom and Josie. May you find comfort in all of the memories as you celebrate his life.
Sincerely
Shirley (Parsons) and Paul Hammond.
Your northern cousin.

Sorry for your loss, only knew him for a short time but I will always remember his dry humour and trying to get the best of me. Stay strong Stephany.
